Reason why I ask is because TeamViewer have server(s) in the city I live in (Sydney Australia) so lag would be minimal, which is a nice selling point. I would prefer to not have my data being sent overseas (e.g. Germany) only for it to have to come back to Sydney again.

I am fighting with some remote control applications such as teamviewer or anydesk. In each case I can not get my laptops to be a server. I would like to be able to get a remote display (or control) to any other linux machine or android smartphone.
I got too much issues on my system with teamviewer and am now trying hard to get anydesk working.

Indeed, anydesk run perfectly with Manjaro (KDE) and not on my system, so I guess a DE or something like this makes it working.
Do you have some advices on how I can find what is wrong with my session type?

Yes you are not supposed to be able to use these commands with sudo plainly like that, they will not have the dbus session of your user available, nor the X environment of your users xorg server. In case this is actually relevant, you should not try to sledgehammer problems by prepending sudo to commands willy nilly, that will often not lead to success. Are you trying to run the standard anydesk client as root despite not needing to? Then just don't and this also would explain your issues.

I'm not familiar with anydesk, but e.g. in the case of teamviewer there is a systemd service for starting the background daemon, once that is started the actual teamspeaker client has to be launched as your normal user..

About anydesk, I run it as my user on my normal seesion, I precise that I can connect to another device from my system but I can not in the opposit way, e.g. I can connect to my android smartphone, but not the opposit.

Just got stuck with the exactly same problem: Installed anydesk on my Arch desktop and Manjaro laptop. Manjaro is preconfigured somehow, Arch starts via xinitrc somehow (at least it starts directly into the desktop without asking me for my password, also no DM is installed). My .xinitrc is rather simple

Hi! Any progress here? I have the same problem. When log system with lightdm no problem to connect using anydesk. Howerver when use startx from tty anydesk cant connect with error "Remote display server is not supported". I have cloned all diff variables in lightdm session but problem persists. I dont know what anydesk is checking when connect, but one interesting thing is that if try to connect when no user is logged and lightdm is on screen the window for confirm connection appears in login screen.

I tried everything posted here, but without success, I can't have anydesk functional; I installed and ran archlinux with enlightenment, without login manager, everything is perfect but anydesk does not work; the moment I install xfce / kde / gnome, keeping the enlightenment, under xfce / kde / gnome it works without problems, but the moment I log out and log in enlightenment, ready, anydesk no longer works it crashes.
I also tried installing the entrance, but without success.
If you have any advice on what I could try, what I could do ....

27.04.21
I noticed that if I launch anydesk with a random number, anydesk with error message is launched, recipient that does not exist, and from the keyboard I can enter a real address, it connects, but no I have no control over the computer, nothing works neither mouse nor keyboard and I am forced to restart the computer. I have no idea why it doesn't work ....

After installing Anydesk on my Ubuntu 18.04 server and trying to connect from a Mac, I would get a display_server_not_supported error. I was able to resolve this by going into the /etc/gdm3/custom.conf file and changing:

I have a user with a strange situation. We have a terminal server (Windows Server 2012 R2) where everyone can RDP in without an issue.Except for this one person. He connects successfully, but only after a few seconds, the connection drops and the RDP client reconnects.

I took a look through the EventViewer on the server, and there an event (Information) with the ID 9009 from Desktop Windows Manager with the content "The Desktop Window Manager has exited with code (0xd00002fe)".

hi all of you ,guys i am having a problem with my server which is in remote location .when i connect through anydesk to my server it get very very slow .but when i work locally to the same server its fine

If your remote connection is slowing down your file transmission and other server functions it could be that you need to either put more Ethernet cables into your server. If you cant, buy a better network card.

I use ConnectWise Control and an older server at one of my clients does the same thing. It is horribly slow but RDP and local use is fine. I just ended up using my control software to log into a different server then RDP to the one I want.

AnyDesk represents a remote software solution enabling users to access remote computers from any location. Nevertheless, users might encounter an "AnyDesk is not connected to the server" error, which arises when the application fails to establish a connection with its designated server. Various factors could be responsible for this occurrence, including network problems, firewall restrictions, outdated AnyDesk versions, server-related issues, or even corrupt installation files.

If you find yourself facing challenges while attempting to establish a connection with the AnyDesk server, and those pesky error messages are starting to get on your nerves, fear not. Within this article, we shall explore the solutions to resolve AnyDesk is not connected to the server Windows 10, 11.

Among the primary culprits triggering the "AnyDesk is not connected to server" error is network-related problems. To address this issue, ensure that your internet connection remains stable and sufficiently fast.

The occurrence of this error might be due to your computer's firewall obstructing the connection to the AnyDesk server. To resolve this issue, you'll need to temporarily disable your firewall settings.

Launch AnyDesk on your computer. Navigate to the "News" section within the application. In the "News" section, you will find the option to check the "AnyDesk Status," which will provide you with the necessary information about the server's current status.

Pessoal, boa tarde.. Estou utilizando somente E2guardian com proxy transparente, MITM, os bloqueios estão todos funcionando corretamente. Porém utilizo um software de acesso remoto chamado anydesk ele da erro, quando desabilitado o MITM, ele funciona...

I'm having trouble connecting to the Any Desk server when DPI-SSL is active. Similar services like Teamviewer work. If DPI-SSL is deactivated, a connection to Anydesk is possible. Exclude settings do not work. Does anyone have a solution?

@BWC The AnyNet Relay is exclused. Also the .anydesk.com and the IP 239.255.102.18 as the default value connection (According Anydesk). In the Connection Failures there are no blocked connections that I could assign to Anydesk.

I've faced off this problem some times ago and after an extensive troubleshooting activities with SonicWall Techy we found that in my scenario the blocking reason was the flag "Always authenticate server for decrypted connections": disabling it, AnyDesk worked fine again.

Firstly I have analyzed the traffic AnyDesk does to its home using packet monitor. From the attached pcap.NG file (pls rename its extension after download in .pcapng or chose to open with Wireshark) you are able to see the complete trace from my client negotiating to AnyDesk server on port 443, 80 and 6568. And you are also able to discover the issue was a Fatal Error for the TLS 1.2 negotiation related to Unknown CA.

Hi,
in order to add the repository, I had to disable the same rule otherwise the machine was not able to connect.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oisf/suricata-stable
After the upgrade to latest version 5.0.3, with the rule enabled even teamviewer and anydesk do not work, moreover even other services stopped to work (web server).
So is it the rule necessary?
Thank you

In either case, once your client machine (desktop) can access the remote LXD server, then you can do lxc remote add my-server IP-ADDRESS:PORT to add your server to your local client and finally do lxc console my-server:VmNAME --console=vga to get to the VGA console.

Currently I have a jenkins installation running as a service on a server PC, and I have an admin user, with another user. The server is where I would like all of my pipelines to run.I'd like to be able to somehow access jenkins with another PC (my own laptop), without needing to remotedesk/anydesk to the server PC every time I want to build or change a pipeline.

The reason I am not using my own laptop as the master/controller, and the server PC as an agent, is because I'd like pipelines to have the capability to run instantly, at any time, when there is a commit to a github repo (e.g. when my laptop is off, it will not run).

Follow the steps as root user to install Anydesk from the repository.
Step 1. Add Anydesk repository key to the Trusted software providers list.
wget -qO - -GPG-KEY apt-key add -
Step 2. Now add the repository to the sources list.
Below command will put the repository entry in a new file under /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directory.
* Execute as single command
echo "deb all main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/anydesk-stable.list
Step 3. Update the apt cache by running below command.
apt update
Step 4. Now install the software. This command will download and install Anydesk from repository along with dependencies.
apt install anydesk
Step 5. Finally, You can launch by typing Anydesk in the application launcher.
