With the recent rise of Sourceforge altering installers of projects hosted on it, I think it would be a good idea to change hosting providers for the project [1] [2]. I realize that as a pure Python project, there might not be an easy way for past releases to be hijacked. I think at the very least, the PyPI project page should be changed to host download files on the PyPI infrastructure [3]. In recent years, this infrastructure has become *vastly* better. I have little doubt it's light-years beyond what Sourceforge currently offers. This would also alleviate the problem of installing PyKE. Current versions of pip do not by default allow installing externally-hosted packages, and do not allow installing packages hosted on plain http. This means you have to do the following to install PyKE:

pip install pyke --allow-external pyke --allow-unverified pyke

If the project uploaded files directly to PyPI, these extra options would not be necessary.

And now the Sourceforge site is completely down, and the docs for Pyke are unavailable. Are there any pointers to generating them from the Python package?

I also received an email from Google a few days ago saying that they couldn't access the doc site.  I just tried the site and it is working now.  The sourceforge blog says that the site was restored today. Let me know if you continue to have trouble. Or if you want to get involved in pyke development.
