Registration is opened Saturday for Houston Advanced PyCamp:

For the last PyCamp, our good friends at Enfold Systems did *heavy* promotional work.

This time, let's see if the community can make this a success. Just like last time, $50 of every registration goes to the fledgling Houston Zope and Python Users Group. The purpose of this event is to *grow the local Python community* and its markets of opportunity.

If you know of a technical or business community who needs to know about Houston Advanced PyCamp, please let them know about this opportunity at the Texas Learning and Computation Center on the campus of the University of Houston, May 21-25. Some communities which this should concern are the GIS, bioinformatics, biostatistics, molecular biology, and physical and natural sciences communities, as well as communities dependent on online social networking and folksonomies.

Houston Advanced PyCamp is an important step in acquiring the skills for Houston SciPyCamp, which is in turn necessary for a number of important research collaborations of deep socio-economic value to the Houston area. If you saw the demonstration of "Chainsaw," the massively parallel distributed computing with Python project at PyCon, you know just what I mean.
