There's just two potentially big problems: (1) Some administrators
will forbid this for sociological reasons. (2) The computer is running
Linux instead of Windows.
There's nothing you can do if your administrator just forbids this
activity. They have full authority over the computers; they even have
the right to demand that the computers never be plugged into an
electrical outlet.
You can do something about not having Windows. There's lots of
software you can run on Linux (even office software), but you can't
run software that is Windows-only or Windows/Mac-only, such as
Microsoft Office. The problem is that you have lots of homework to do
on your own. You might appeal to various Linux groups for assistance.

able to run a virus scan against a Windows hard disk.
