We’ll have our next bi-weekly telecon this coming Monday, April 1^st at the usual time of 9 AM MT | 11 AM ET | 15 UTC. (This is not an April Fool’s day joke.) We’ll hear from Kaushal Amancherla on work done with “Harnessing Large Language Models to Enable Search and Discovery and Accelerate Science In Heliophysics”, and some of the details behind that.

Hi all,

 

Wanted to also pass along reminders for a couple things before our telecon on Monday. Note there are important dates in here that have no flexibility:

• Register to attend the PyHC 2024 Summer School if you haven’t yet! We’ll have in-person options here at LASP, as well as online on Zoom (for most components of the summer school). Registration is due—for in-person *and* online—by Mon, April 29^th.
• If you plan to attend in-person….
• !! NEW !! Consider submitting an abstract to present on work you’ve done with Python in Heliophysics! Bonus points if you used PyHC packages. See our blog post for more details. Submissions due by Mon, May 6^th.
• Make sure to reserve your hotel room at the gov’t rate discount we have with Hyatt Place Boulder. Must do this prior to the cut-off date of April 19^th.
• If you, or a student you know, wants to attend, but is in need of funding assistance, ask them to apply to our NSF-sponsored travel funding! Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident. Applications due by Mon, April 29^th (same as registration).
• If you are considering attending the Software for the NASA SMD Workshop, May 7 – 9, 2024 in D.C., be sure to submit registration (abstraction submission included in registration) by this Friday, March 29^th.
