Hello all,
We have a telecon this coming Monday, July 13
th at 9 AM MT | 11 AM ET | 15 UTC. Zesen Huang will speak on the the first prototype of the SPEDAS Agent and the accompanying SPEDAS Agent Kit, built on top of the open-source LingTai framework (
GitHub
repo link). A short abstract is below:
Agentic SPEDAS: A LingTai-Based Agent Harness for Reproducible Heliophysics Workflows
This talk will introduce an early prototype of SPEDAS Agent and the SPEDAS Agent Kit, an effort to explore how persistent, tool-using AI agents can support reproducible heliophysics analysis workflows. Built on the LingTai agent framework, the prototype treats
an AI assistant not as a transient chatbot, but as an auditable agent harness around SPEDAS/PySPEDAS-style workflows: it can help users discover relevant data products, generate and inspect analysis scripts, track provenance, preserve task context, and package
reusable procedures as explicit agent skills. I will discuss the motivation for an agentic interface to community scientific software, the current design of the prototype, and how a SPEDAS Agent Kit could enable domain experts to encode common analysis patterns
while keeping the underlying code, data access, and scientific assumptions transparent. The broader goal is to make expert heliophysics workflows easier to discover, reuse, and audit, while keeping human scientific judgment and existing SPEDAS/PySPEDAS APIs
at the center of the process.
See you all Monday!
Thanks,
