Not only is stereo down-mixed to mono .. but if I use openal the sound
output is
hugely distorted.. I just hear very loud white/static noise. :|

remember.pol: that's not an intrinsic design flaw, but an actual bug.
Please open an issue describing the
problem completely (e.g., what is your sound device, what version of
OpenAL, what sound formats specifically
cause problems, what pyglet code demonstrates the problem, have you
confirmed that other OpenAL
applications not written in pyglet sound acceptable, etc.)
