Get rid of all the cruft I added in the test suite in order to support
recent unittest idioms (assertRaiseRegexp, skipIf, etc.) on Python versions
< 2.7 and require unittest2 module from pypi to be installed (else exit).

Fixed in r1256 and r1257.
