Is there a way to have check ignore case?

I have taken my dataset, and made it all lower case.  I wish to check it against a dictionary with pyenchants check routine, but I want the dictionary to have everything lowercase.  Perhaps I can somehow modify the dictionary and then have it check against that? I am using standard en_US dict, no special broker configuration or anything like that.  Thanks for any help with this.
