Install problems OSX 10.8

Same problems as those pointed out in a much older thread (by Doug Hellman?). Neither the egg nor the dmg appear to work, and I'd really rather avoid building from source (in particular building enchant itself).

Is there anyone who's successfully installed this for Python2.7 on a recent version of OSX?

Sorry no -- I've punted on that -- though should like to...

You'll probably have best luck using macports or homebrew to build enchant (and aspell, and ???). If you do do it one way or another, it would be great if you could built is with static libs so we can make a newer re-distributable binary....If you do that; let me know, and I'll make sure to put it up somewhere people can find it -- I'm trying to get started on a repository of binaries for Python packages on teh Mac.
