I write to you on behalf of a group of individuals and collectives who have been trying to consistently sustain a space of conversation, debate and action on Kashmir, in Bangalore. In the past, we have organised talks, art exhibitions and performances as a response and constant reminder of the long, brutal history of occupation and resilience in Kashmir.

To continue this effort, we are organizing a two-day workshop, 'Understanding Kashmir'  on 27th & 28th July, with Sanjay Kak and Inshah Malik as faculty. Please find attached a detailed concept note on the workshop. The workshop is particularly for students, as 'Kashmir' remains conspicuously absent from syllabus and any engagement is consciously censored within campuses. However, the workshop is also open for others who might be interested.

Please let us know if you would be interested in attending. Please also share it with people who might be interested in registering for the course as well.

This is a non-funded workshop, and we are seeking support to cover the cost of organising and production. Any amount will be appreciated and help us to plan future activities as well.If you are interested in contributing, please respond to this email, and I will send you the bank details.

We are not circulating this publicly given the political climate, so if you are forwarding this on, please do it within trusted networks.

We look forward to hearing from you,

warmth,
angarika
