3rd edition python for data analysis rec install virtual enviro

i have an m2 mac and was planning on working through Wes Mckinney's book and already hit a snag trying to set up i'm getting an error in terminal when i try to run. conda create -y -n pydata.-book python=3.10 

it advises me to run show channels which i did and it displays a forge and a forg but wll not allow the next set up step - i have earlier loaded for another class anaconda is this a duplicate install causing issues
