I am preparing for a short course this Sunday on MV and ML in python and following installation instructions. Downloaded and installed Anaconda 5.2 for python 3.6, and downloaded all files for pycroscopy in GitHub.
Regarding pycroscopy, in https://pycroscopy.github.io/pycroscopy/install.html, it says to open the Command promt (which I did) and type: ''pip install pycroscopy'. If I do that I get a message that 'pip' is not recognized.
I have Windows 7.

I am dowloading now HDFView, but I am unsure that pycroscopy is actually installed. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks. P.

Pat,

When installing Anaconda, did you choose to add it to your PATH?  If not, you will need to open the Anaconda Prompt under the Anaconda3 folder in your Start Menu.  You should be able to run the command there.

and you need to say `conda install pycroscopy`, better not mix `conda` and `pip`
