Hi,

I was wondering if you are using any type of hardware simulator when developing code for tasks.

Cheers,

Hi Lior,

There is currently no software option for simulating pyControl hardware while developing tasks.  There is a board we sometimes use for this called the devboard, which I have just put the design files for on github (link).  This board uses pushbuttons and LEDs to emulate simple behavioural hardware such as pokes connected to a breakout board, and has connectors where you can add extra devices such as an audio board.  It is not currently commercially available from Open Ephys but probably could be if there was interest in this, and it is also simple to hand assemble.

It would be really nice to have a software emmulator for pyControl hardware.  I'm unlikely to have time to develop this in the near future but if anyone is interested in trying to do so I would be very happy to help with advice.

best,

Thomas
