Hi Richard Otis,
Hope you are doing well. Thanks for your excellent work with pycalphad. I am new to using it.

When I tried to run an example. I had this error of module 'pycalphad' has no attribute 'variables'. Can you please suggest how to go about it?
I am using Anaconda with python 3.5

Also,
- Are there pre-existing .tdb files for High Entropy Alloys like TC-Python, Glass and Ceramics?
- I am also interested in studying multilayer thin film diffusion in a heat treatment cycle

Thanks
Ashik

Hi Ashik,

Can you try to update to the latest version of pycalphad, version 0.8.4?  pycalphad 0.8.4 requires at least Python 3.6. Python 3.5 is rather old (Python 3.10 will release later this year).

For TDB files, you may want to search the TDBDB for your systems of interest.

Cheers,
Brandon

While not as extensive as some of the commercial HEA databases, for Cantor-type HEAs, the Hallstedt HEA database is pycalphad-compatible: https://github.com/pycalphad/binder/blob/builder_test/multicomponent-databases/mpea-02b.tdb

Thanks,
Richard
