Problem importing pyart without netcdftime and cftime

Hi all, I couldn't find much discussion related to this besides what Mishra posted in June 2021.

I continue running into an pyart import error due to two errors:

1: No module named netcdftime

2: cannot import name 'utime' from cftime.

I cannot seem to install netcdftime due to the package becoming obsolete. Additionally, I am updating cftime to no avail.

I am running the latest version of cftime (1.6.0), pyart (1.12.1), and netcdf4(1.5.4). I am running jupyter on my 2015 intel macbookpro.

This is very peculiar because I had just recently run this script a few weeks ago with no issues.

Hi all, just in case anyone runs across this error, I figured it out:

cftime dropped their support of utime in their latest update 1.6.0

Their last package update that supports utime is 1.4.1.
