Hello,

I could not compile rsl for windows. Is there a site to download librsl.dll ? Or a makefile or sln for windows ?

Thanks

I've never successfully compiled RSL on Windows and I do not think it
would be easy to do. RSL makes extensive use of the GNU build tools
(make, lexx, etc) which do not exist on Windows systems except in a
Cygwin like setup.

Gilad,

I was able to compile and run/use rsl under cygwin. There are a few tricks in the config file, but overall it is doable.

Cheers,
Piotr

Thanks Piotr,

Can you please send me the config file or makefile or dll to gil...@hotmail.com ?

Or share a link to a website with it ?

I tried anconda installer and did not find rsl there ?

Py-ART can be compiled on Windows as well as other platforms without the
RSL library. You will lose access to the read_rsl and FourDD dealiasing
routines but other functionality will work fine. I built a recent
version of Py-ART for Windows which is available from binstar in my
channel [1]. The build is actually semi-automated using a AppVeyor VM
[2]. Do note that there are a few unit tests failing on Windows [3]
that should be explored and fixed.

Thanks a lot Jonathan and Piotr,

I will try both. When I tried in Python
Import pyart
I got error that it is not properly installed.

Cheers

Unfortunately I am not familiar enough with Cygwin to offer any help here.  This weekend I was able to compile RSL in Cygwin on Windows but I have no idea if the library produced (librsl.a) can be wrapped and linked by Cython when building the interface that Py-ART uses to access the functionality in RSL.  Has anyone else had experience with this type of work?
