Hi Robin,

As you said earlier that you didn't believe the 6S outputs included the sunglint reflectance. However, the 6S outputs actually included that reflectance according to the author of 6S model. Below is an 6S I/O file from the author and the sunglint reflectance is in bold.

So could you check again how to get the sunglint reflectance output from Py6S?

Thank you.
Kind regards,
Mengmeng.

Hi,

Ah yes, I can see that it does include the sunglint reflectance if an ocean model is selected.

Py6S doesn't support extracting the sunglint reflectance at the moment - I never used the ocean model myself so never realised that the sunglint reflectance could be displayed. I will try and modify Py6S to extract this when I have a chance - but I can't guarantee how soon that will be as I'm busy with paid work. I will try and get to it as soon as I can though.

(I now work as a freelancer rather than an academic, so my paid work has to take priority. If you would like me to provide faster responses then I am happy to do this work through my freelance business - see http://rtwilson.com/ for details, or email ro...@rtwilson.com).

Thanks,

Robin

Hi Robin,

Thank you very much for offering the help. You are doing great work at Remote Sensing/GIS, Data Science and Python.

It will be nice if you can modify Py6S to extract sunglint reflectance in a few days because I am in a hurry to get this. But if you are too busy to do it soon, maybe I can wait a while.

Thank you.
Kind regards,
Mengmeng.

Hi,

I've released a new version of Py6S that has support for extracting the sunglint reflectance.

Install the latest version by running `pip install -U Py6S` and then you can access the output you want as `s.outputs.water_component_glint`

Regards,

Robin
