hello one and all,
i've been programming so long i think i'm losing it.
under DAL and a Field set to writable=True and readable=False, wouldn't that be a field that renders and carries on to the form in the page but would be hidden from view of the user?
so that we can assign the value from jQuery('input[name="my_variable"]').val(whatever); which then would make it back to the database.
thank you in advance, lucas

Honestly I do not remember if that was the case in web2py. That is not the case in py4web but it makes sense that it could behave that way.
I need to think about it for a bit but no obvious reason not to reinstate that behavior.

Hello, agree, this behaviour would be very useful.

writable=True and readable=False  ==>  hidden Form Field
