to pXRF for Cultural Heritage

Hi all and hoping for a quick answer as I just got pulled into a last minute project to examine paints on a west coast totem pole. I have a Tracer 5i and my initial thoughts is doing this in Spectrometer mode, no filter and 40kv and 5-10 micro amps. BUT I would welcome any insight on this. Paints are about 100-120 years old.
