Sorry I've been away from here. Like Clark, life got in the way of
living. Time to change that!

So, who is interested in a canoe/kayak trip March 14-15th? Probably
launch into Cypress Creek at Jesse H. Jones, head upstream on the San
Jac to an inviting sandbar, spend the night, then head down to
Edgewater Park at San Jac/hwy 59 the next day. Details will be hashed
out as people RSVP.

Neil,

Hopefully you can paddle upstream sunday morning to meet up with us.
Um, by chance could you also help shuttle vehicles on Saturday? Right
now it's just me and Beau in his canoe and a friend from work and a
friend of his in my old canoe. I was thinking I could drive my truck/
canoe to your place Saturday, then you maybe could drive us to Jesse
H. Jones to launch. Sunday morning you could use my truck to take your
canoe to the river to Edgewater Park and then head upstream to catch
us, then somehow we tie your kayak and my canoe to the truck to get
you home...

Conflicting updates!

Well, the weather reports for this weekend are a bit ugly with 60% of
rain and highes only in the 50's. At the same time there's currently a
burn ban in effect for Montgomery and Harris counties. It's up to a
$500 fine if caught with a campfire or other open flame. However, if
the fire is contained in some sort of metal firecan it should be
legal.

So, thoughts about this weekend's trip? Anyone having second thoughts?
