Configuration Manager 5004 Authentication Required

Trying to push my configuration but can't as each time I go to restrict config I get "5004 ERROR_AUTHENTICATION_REQUIRED" (You must be authenticated before restriction the configuration"

I entered the configuration password to get to this screen, double checked if I could just enter the wrong password and get to the GUI anyways but it does check password, so not sure what other authentication I need?

I was looking in the configuration editor for something about admin access, but only saw that you can specify an ldap group for admin access once you restrict the config.

Is the only way to restrict to go into the .xml and just set Configenabled to false there?

Posting my solution here in case anyone else has this issue. You have to make sure to correctly map LDAP admins in the config editor, then log into the GUI and then you'll be able to save the config. Makes sense now that I have found it but that error did not really point me in any useful direction!

Can you elaborate on this a bit.  How did you get LDAP admins to map correctly?

I faced same error, what I did:

1. Stop PWM from Topmcat

2. Edit PwmConfiguration.xml file

3. On the line <property key="configIsEditable">false</property> just make sure it says false instead of true (or type true if you want to back editing again)

4. Save the file and start PWM from Tomcat

5. Voila!..now config is restricted.
