Forgotten Username returns

Unable to find user name. Please try again.
        5016 ERROR_CANT_MATCH_USER
if  a search comes up empty.

Based on following the PWM log (Trace),  it appears that the  Forgotten Username module goes into the Intruder Detection flow if there's not a match.  Is that where these messages come from? Is there any way to modify the message when it's unmatched?

I'm specifically looking to see if the record matches an attribute in a filter.  If there is no match for that attribute I'd like to display a different message.  Is this possible?

Thanks,

Peter

Yes, you can modify all error messages in the config editor error messages section.

OK.
What file / jar stores these messages, since they're not coming from the PWMConfiguration.xml/
is there any way to suppress displaying the numeric PWM error (in this case, the   5016 ERROR_CANT_MATCH_USER)

They are actually set in the PwmConfiguration.xml.  All values set in the config editor are stored in the xml.

Try setting ' Settings ⇨ Security ⇨ Application Security ⇨ Show Detailed Error Messages'.

Toggling the Show Detailed Error Messages (display.showDetailedErrorsdoesn't) seem to have any effect;  the 5016 message appears regardless.
Which key or setting actually contains the text "Unable to find user name" ?  I'd like to be able to customize that.

You should also be able to search for it in the config editor.

Was one of the first things I did.  But for reference:

sudo sh -c "grep Unable /usr/local/var/pwm/PwmConfiguration.xml | echo $?"
1

Screenshot:  string Unable isn't found

I'm not sure why the search isn't working for you, but you can search on the web page I linked to find the key, and edit it by navigating in the menu.  It won't make it to the config xml until you modify it.
