"Lessons of the Minneapolis Day of Truth & Freedom: No Work.No School. No Shopping."
Monday, Feb. 2, 2026 7 PM
Attend a special meeting of the Moratorium Now Coalition, in person or
by zoom, to hear a firsthand, organizer’s account of the January 23,
2026 Minneapolis General Strike.
Bryan G Pfeifer, a member of the United Steelworkers Union and
Co-Founder of Wisconsin Bail Out the People Movement, traveled to
Minneapolis to work alongside many dozens of union, community and faith
based organizers the week before January 23. He will be speaking via
zoom to the Detroit Moratorium Now Coalition meeting on Monday, February
2, 2026 from 7 to 8 PM (Eastern) / 6-7 PM (Central) on how they
organized labor, community, faith leaders and the broad public against
ICE and the Trump administration’s terror campaign to turn out 100,000
protesters in the bitter cold and successfully shut down over 750
businesses.
As the Trump offensive continues, it is critical that activists learn
the lessons from around the country on how we can fight back.
