Sylvia -- The Line 5 tunnel permit issued by the Michigan Public Service Commission is being appealed to the Michigan Supreme Court, with oral arguments scheduled for today, Wednesday, March 11. We invite you to watch the livestream of the hearings. They are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT today. After the hearings, please tune in to the 11:30 a.m. EDT press conference livestream from the steps of the Michigan Supreme Court (or an interior location in case of rain). Watch the livestream at Michigan Climate Action Network. You can also get the link to watch the court proceedings and recording here. The Michigan Supreme Court is scheduled to hear Little Traverse Bay Bands v. Michigan Public Service Commission* and For Love of Water v. Michigan Public Service Commission, two cases that are challenging the MPSC’s approval of permits for Enbridge’s Line 5 oil tunnel. These hearings come right on the heels of a separate case before the U.S. Supreme Court, which will determine whether or not Enbridge acted improperly by missing the 30-day deadline to remove Attorney General Dana Nessel’s lawsuit from state to federal court to shut down the existing pipeline. *Co-Appellents include Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, Bay Mills Indian Community, Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, and Environmental Law & Policy Center and Michigan Climate Action Network Press conference speakers include:
