Any work groups planned for the near future? I hear there are a lot of trees down blocking trails in the park.

I was wondering the same thing.   In addition to the downed trees most of the trails are getting a little overgrown with vegetation.   We need to get the weed trimmers out.

I usually worked with Joe on the trail projects. I wrecked over there a few weeks ago and just had shoulder surgery. Sorry I'm out for now. My name is George.

Sorry about that guys - I apparently butt e-mailed the group. Except it was my back...

Anyway, I was riding there just a week ago and, OUCH, the thorns do hurt a bit.  I apologize that I cannot be out there to help mow ‘er down. Perhaps if a crew wants to go this Friday, Saturday or Monday morning of this week I can provide man power, some hedge trimmers and a saw.

Hey guys, lets get out to PV sometime next week and do some trail work.  I should be able to get a few other guys to help out.  The weeds are getting bad!

I can do 10 till noon on Saturday, any body's welcome to show up then . No need to have a formal time otherwise, just work when you can.  Besides chipmunk, where are there trees that need cleared?

I got about a dozen or so people that said they can help out this upcoming Monday afternoon.  If anybody could get to some of the downed trees before then that would be great so we could focus more on weed trimming on Monday.

Cut out the 2 trees that were blocking chestnut trail.  Still need to do some more weed trimming but for the time being the trails are in ok shape.  Just gotta wait for the trails to dry out now.

Thanks for your time and efforts, I'm sure we all will pass through there soon.

Hello Everyone,

This is a good time to prep the trails for some late summer riding.  I road twice last weekend and there are only a few small sticky mud puddles, otherwise overgrowth is the only issue.

I'd like to invite you all to a short work party, this Saturday morning from 9 til 11 am.  Bring your line trimmers and perhaps something to cut some larger over growth.

Let me know if you can join us, otherwise feel free to show up anytime to cut on your own.

Mike

Thanks to those that showed up, we got free Rivertowne Beer coupons from one of the local venders.  Great conditions out there on Hanks Trail, be sure to check out the lower end where line trimming has opened up the path so that line of sight allows for fast riding.    Anybody available for next Saturday?    Would like to think of August as final prep for fall riding at PV.
