Hi everyone, I'm Brian. I just moved back to the area. Took a ride at Pleasant Valley yesterday and was very impressed! Reminds me of a mini-Raystown. Anyway, I threw together a short video edit of my ride this evening. Feel free to use it for anything you like. https://vimeo.com/102297219

Thanks for sending this Brian. I just road the Allegrippis trails for
the first time ever on Friday and Saturday and can't wait to ride
there again. Raystown has giant bench cuts that include elevation
whoops that provide localized drainage. The whoops follow the natural
drainage paths of the terrain. The water does not need to traverse
more than the distance of the whoops. Those same whoops make riding
there an amazing experience. Going downhill, depending on speed you
can glide or launch over these. Going uphill, if you carry enough
speed you can actually pump uphill without pedaling. Berms: Berms are
everywhere and huge. Using Raystown as a model, I'd like to see more
dirt work at PV, shovels and machines. Anybody have access to a
tracked dingo? Mike

Cool video Brian!  PV isn't big but packs a lot of fun into 5 miles of trails.  I try to get out there once a week or so, maybe i'll see ya around.

Textbook IMBA trails with sweeping grade reversals and a little bit of out-slope keeps the trails dry, flowy, and fun! PV has all the ingredients, and the trails ride just as fun in reverse. Thinking of taking my rigid 29er up there tomorrow, as I've been using my 5" trail bike thus far. I get the feeling either one will do the trick.

I don't have access to a Dingo, but I have spent some time behind the controls of one up at Seven Springs. What a great machine.

I did some googling around during the rain tonight, short of buying
the IMBA guide I came across a few resources:

http://nw-trail.org/files/Trail%20Building%20Tips%20-%20Water%20Management%20to%20Minimize%20Erosion.pdf

Sections 4 and 9 of this video series contain the heart of the trail mechanics:

Armed with this basic knowledge, I'm wondering what would be the best
course of action on a couple muddy patches at PV. I know that any
ideas and volunteer work hours would be appreciated by Joseph Gavin.

The new "trail condition meter" is really nice. Thanks.
There is an updated trail map showing Cheeky Chipmunk. Does someone with a key to the bulletin board want to post it?
