Hi everyone,

I am exploring Bifacial Modelling and am looking for examples to use infinite sheds model to calculate rear irradiance. Could you please share them?

Also, I find that rear irradiance calculation is time consuming. What is the scope and opportunities to speed this up efficiently? For example - pvfactors takes some time to calculate irradiance for a year at hourly resolution. This well exceed with increase in data size.

Please share your suggestions.

Take a look at pvlib documentation for bifacial modelling as a starting point, it has everything you need.

Regarding your second question, pvfactors (and so also the solarfactors fork used in pvlib) implements a "fast" solution method which introduces some approximations explained in the documentation, you may try with that. I've only worked with full simulations so I can't say anything regarding the difference in output between the two approaches and the speed improvement.
