altitude issues with .epw

to pvlib-python

has anyone ever faced issues to handle altitude?

weather_data, metadata = pvlib.iotools.read_epw(epw_file_path, coerce_year=2023)

is giving me this: An error occurred while reading the EPW file: 'altitude'

however it was Ok before, same weather file, very strange
