Prospective GSoC 2026 Contributor–Benchmarking Project

Hello everyone,

My name is Mohamed Elshamy, a third-year Computer Science student from Egypt, specializing in AI. I’m interested in data science and artificial intelligence, and I mainly work with Python.

I’m preparing to contribute to pvlib and I’m especially interested in helping improve and develop the library In particular, I’m interested in the Benchmarking and Profiling project idea for GSoC.

I also have a basic background in solar energy concepts, and I’m currently learning more about the field to better understand pvlib and contribute effectively.

I’m planning to apply for GSoC, and I’d love to start contributing and learning from the community.
