Not an event, but a useful statement from Smiley:

Winter weather can take a toll on our streets, and with the recent storms, crews are seeing more potholes across Providence. Freeze and thaw cycles, plowing operations and winter conditions can all contribute to potholes forming this time of year.

Our teams are actively repairing potholes on city streets and will continue making improvements as we head into the 2026 paving season.

If you see a pothole, please report it so it can be addressed as quickly as possible:
City streets: http://providenceri.gov/pvd311
State roads: http://dot.ri.gov/about/potholes.php

Providence includes a number of roads maintained by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. Reports submitted to the correct agency help ensure repairs happen faster.

Thank you for helping us keep Providence streets safe.
