I have attached a video and a few pictures showing the problems I'm experiencing with the system. The video shows the behavior of the Roll and Pitch. After powering on the system by plugging it into the pi and external power supply, both the roll and pitch start to shake in a disorderly manner and don't stabilize. I tried typing in commands for various angles of orientation for both the roll  and pitch using the Arduino IDE, but nothing happens, the system keeps behaving as shown in the video.
I checked to see if there was any problem with the soldering or wiring, but everything seems to be okay.
I also deleted the drivers on the Arduino and uploaded the ones in  this document. The document says that after installing the drivers, the COM number should be less than 9. It was 3, so I don't think there's a problem there.

The problem seems to be with the firmware. I followed all the steps for uploading the firmware using the Arduino IDE, but as shown in the attached pictures it's not compiling. What could be the reason for this?

Hi Ahmed

I didn't work with the firmware on the PV project. Ronny says

"firmware using the Arduino IDE ... not compiling"

He is trying to reinstall everything to eliminate the shaking problems.

Ronny, was your gimbal balanced when you experienced this behavior?
Did you know that balancing it was important? I'm asking because if it is not obvious, we should put that into the user manual. The weight can be screwed in and out to adjust it according to the load it carries and hot it is distributed.

Actually, it was Jim who mainly did the board programming

Hey everyone,
Sorry been to busy to respond. I'll try to go through the thread later today.
As for compiling the firmware, If I remember in the docs it needs to be set for an Arduino Pro Mini...

Here are the settings on the IDE. It's set to Arduino pro or mini (5V, 16MHz) w/ATmega168. In the documentation, it only says Arduino pro or mini. There's 4 different types of that
Here are the 3 other types (5V, 16MHz) w/ ATmega 328)
(3.3V, 8MHz) w/ATmega 328) and (3.3V, 8MHz) w/ATmega168. I've tried two of these so far and it's still not compiling.  I also cleared the EEPROM.
Tiberius, yes the system was balanced before I connected it.

Ronny, did this work for you?
