I think you should follow the conflict rules you wrote up yourself,
and bring this to some trusted members for mediation. If I did wrong,
I will take proper steps to remedy the situation. I will expect you to
do the same.

I actually did that with the conflicts I wrote about in that email. I
brought those conflicts to two elders of the community in July for
mediation. Nothing was resolved, and both of those elders are now
gone, at least one from the same kind of behavior.

The damaging email you complain about above originated in another
private thread, and you were the one who told me to bring the conflict
to the whole Sensorica list.

It is a long-running conflict, which is still not resolved, and not
founded on any misinterpretation of a single email.

Timing is flexible. We've lived with this problem for a long time.

I am not an elder, not by a long shot.  But I am putting my hat in the ring to help resolve this long standing issue.
Any takers?

I'm good with Abran, but I think we need at least three people,
including at least one woman.

Bob, I thought I made the misunderstanding very clear in my first answer to your email to SENSORICA. It is black on white. I don't know why we need to revisit this issue again. See below.
I don't know what you mean by a "long-running conflict". I don't know what the term "conflict" has to do with anything. If you want to talk about disagreements about how to do things in NRP, on prioritizing development, that's normal in all collaboration relations and I would not categorize them as "conflict". Your email starts with "we don't trust Tibi". I don't understand what in the past could lead to this statement.
In order to avoid another long and damaging thread I ask you to stick to documented facts and to avoid making personal empty attacks again.

I advise to stick to one issue at the time. Your reaction was triggered by a private conversation about the new CAKE initiative, and your words alone demonstrate a misunderstanding of the situation. I would prioritize this issue.

-------------------------
Hi Bob,

I see here a huge misunderstanding I am not going into other details, just pointing to a few points to clarify.

For the list of partners on CAKE's website

Here you say:
Look at the partners on that website. Where are we?

Your first question to me, in another thread was

You don't have us up as partners. But you do have a bunch of others
who never did squat for Sensorica. Why?

My immediate answer was:

This list is not finished. We are adding stuff to it as we go.
Can you send me an email with a logo?

In other words, the CAKE website is still a work in progress. We have invited everyone many times to give feedback, and this is how I responded to your feedback. Asking you for the logo, with no other questions asked, is telling you Bob,  OK, just need a logo and you're in. I thought that this was resolved... If something is unclear, could you please tell me what I had to say different?

The list of advisers

Now, let's look at the "last straw", the famous who's who list

Here you say:

Tibi said:
...

This fund-raising effort might actually succeed. If it does, we expect
based on past experience and statements that we will be out in the
cold, and the bulk of the money will go to some impressive "who's
whos" who will not understand what we've done and basically fuck it
all up. But they'll take the money.
We understand. We are not who's who. We don't even want to be who's who.

The bold text underlines the misunderstanding.

Here's what I wrote in my first answer to your reaction about the partner's list:

For the board of advisers, we also had a discussion about who should be on that too. This list is for people like Mai and Margaret, that have a great reach in the classical world, in order to increase our chances to get funding. The more people we have in that are recognizable by others as prominent figures, the better the chance to attract more people with great reach. This list is for a who's who dynamics. Its function is to increase the chances for funding.

In other words, this list is not designed for sensoricans, and those in the list will not get any money from what we raise.

The role of the list of advisers is to attract people with a wide reach, i.e. people with social capital, in order to bring us to those who can support CAKE. I explicitly mentioned Mai (prof at HEC Montreal - local business school) and Margaret (adviser to a Federal MP), to illustrate the type of people we need, local (because the first funding experiment is local) and with social capital or some sort of social status. In order to attract these people we need to create something like a "select club" for them. I think I have enough history here to have people understand that I am not an elitist and I am not for implementing select clubs in SENSORICA. This is just a tactic in the funding campaign, utilizing CAKE's website, giving people from the old economy what they want. The list of advisers, this who's who list, has nothing to do with my views in p2p, with my respect for everyone who has contributed to the network. This is pure pragmatism!

I am open to debate the tactic, but I think a discussion about my integrity, my values and principles will not be productive.

Tibi, are you saying you are not willing to do mediation to resolve this?

I am taking this off the SENSORICA and PV project mailing list. Please DO NOT reply to these lists after this message.

I copied the SENSORICA-Problems list Bob and Lynn if you want to continue this.
It was Bob's initiative...
