8 March 2024

Dear Dr Awais,

Welcome to the RSTMH member newsletter.

Happy International Women’s Day to all our members and Fellows. This day is marked globally every year to celebrate the achievements of women, raise awareness of discrimination and to call for action to accelerate gender parity.

To recognise this day, we have included in this newsletter a blog from Dr Wendy Harrison, our co-President Elect, sharing her own reflections on the day. We also have included a recording of our International Women’s Day panel discussion, which took place yesterday, as well as a write-up of some of the advice given during the discussion.

Elsewhere, we announce an exciting new speaker for our Liverpool Research in Progress event, taking place next month, as launch an online event to mark World Chagas Day.

Finally, please don’t miss the chance to apply for an RSTMH Medal or Award. More information is available on this below.
