Hello Friends & Comrades!

 

May 1st is just around the corner we'd love to join forces with all of you as the API Unified contingent.  In the past, we’ve made a strong presence as the API Unified block and we’d like to invite you all again to join us and march in solidarity to stand up for immigrant rights and workers rights.  Each org can be responsible for their own placards and props.  El Comitè is taking lead for the annual May Day rally and since May 1^st falls on a Saturday, they are projecting a high number of marchers, upwards of about 10,000 or more.  The final rallying point will be held at the Memorial Stadium in Seattle Center.  We are happy to announce that Katrina Pestano aka Rogue Pinay will be performing on the main stage.  Contact Claudia Paras harves...@gmail.com, if you are interested in speaking on behalf of API Unified during the rally at Seattle Center.

 

The NW Bayan orgs (Anakbayan, Pinay sa Seattle, Philippine-US Solidarity Organization and the Arts Kollective) will be marching in unison as a forward marching Filipino Flag.  By marching as API Unified, we hope to make a strong presence of API’s and gain visibility in the struggle for workers rights and immigrant rights.   How do folks feel about wearing a red arm band to show our solidarity with each other?  It’s something we’ve done in the past.  Let me know if you or your org is willing to take this on.  We had a large API Unified banner, does anyone know where it is?  Can Sahngnoksoo drum? 

 

With that said, please join us on May 1^st, we’ll be meeting at the Hidmo, 20^th & Jackson at 11:45am.  The rally will start at Noon at Judkins Park, and the march to downtown will begin at 12:30pm.  We can march to the Judkins or wait for the marchers at Hidmo and join in from there.
