Handling unsubscriptions

Hello again,

As we progress through our migration we are looking at the details of sending emails using Platform. The current issue is handling unsubscribes. I see there is an Unsubscribe module in Platform, but I'm not sure how to best use it. In particular:

- Emails don't by default have any link to unsubscribe. Is there a way to set this up so it is automatically added, such as a common template? The emailing I've used in the past have all ensured this is the case.

- If we have to setup an unsub link for every email, is there any way of doing beyond copy and paste of code?

- In my limited testing it seems the Unsub module doesn't auto-fill the email field with the users email. Have I missed something, or is there no way to set this up?

Hi Noel,

There is a 'common template' available for email footers available through the movement settings page:

https://yourplatform.com/admin/movements/movementname/email_footers

If you specify a link to the unsubscribe page like:

<a href="{MOVEMENT_URL|}/en/actions/unsubscribe?email={EMAIL|}">

Then the user's email is available to the movement site in the params to auto-populate. This requires having that functionality built into your movement site of course.
