Expect plenty more of that with Full Swing season 2.

Full Swing is just one example of the sports docuseries being a hit format for Netflix. While this show covers golf, the streamer has Drive to Survive for Formula 1, Break Point for tennis, Tour de France: Unchained for cycling and Quarterback for the NFL.

The overall premise for Full Swing is not changing after its first season. What I liked most about the first season is how it was all about the players, their personalities, their struggles and gave you insights about collectively the people they are on and off the golf course.

Netflix lucked into the political fighting between the two leagues. It was built-in drama and Netflix teased us all with a trailer. But the series started off too slowly with the opening episode that portrayed the friendships of best buddies Jordan Spieth (Titleist Pro V1) and Justin Thomas (Titleist Pro V1). I found it too saccharine. The second episode was about multi-major winner Brooks Koepka (Srixon Z-Star), whose career had gone from the very top to the very bottom as he struggled to make putts. By the end of the season, Koepka jumped to LIV Golf.

In Season 2 Rory McIlroy (TaylorMade TP5x) is once a major part of the series. In Season 1 he was portrayed as the PGA Tour shield, standing behind the league that gave him his start and to which he pledged his loyalty. It worked out in the end for McIlroy and Netflix when he won the Tour Championship.

That is followed by Dustin Johnson (TaylorMade TP5x), the biggest name at the time to join LIV for a reported $150 million, He is shown on his boat, Just Chillin, fishing. On Season 1 he stated unequivocally he had no regrets about going to LIV. He says in Season 2 if he had to make the same decision, he would.

Netflix released the teaser video for the show five weeks before the series debut on February 15, with both these significant events happening on a Wednesday. The official trailer was introduced merely 9 days before the series was set to premiere

Full Swing's digital marketing started 8 days before and continued 5 days after the launch. Netflix's ad spend shows a strategy that emphasizes the launch week, while still supporting pre-launch anticipation and post-launch viewership.

Aside from Netflix's direct promotions, Full Swing garnered an additional 22M views, accounting for 33% of its total views. This significant boost came from the pro golfers' posts, the PGA Tour's posts, and a collaboration with Michelob Ultra.

Michelob Ultra collaborated with Netflix to air a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl, providing a preview of "Full Swing." The ad included a QR code granting early access to the show's first episode right after the game.

Michelob Ultra and Netflix utilized celebrity features and a joint premiere to generate buzz. The campaign featured diverse sporting icons like Tony Romo, Alex Morgan, and Rickie Fowler, resonating with a wider audience. The premiere was timed strategically with the WM Phoenix Open and Super Bowl LVII, to maximize excitement.

Other Tour stars confirmed to appear in the series, a trailer of which was released last week, are Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Joel Dahmen, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tony Finau, Sahith Theegala and Mito Pereira. The trailer also confirmed appearances from LIV golfers Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Joaquin Niemann.

Other players, Tour players and now-LIV Golfers, who initially signed on last year include Abraham Ancer, Daniel Berger, Cameron Champ, Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, Harry Higgs, Max Homa, Viktor Hovland, Kevin Na, Xander Schauffele and Bubba Watson.

Hop growing goes hand-in-hand with apple growing, and just like our apples, our hop yards, which follow the curve of the river, are lucky to benefit from the rich, nutritious soil of the Frome Valley. Perhaps this is why our hops win so many local and national awards!

Hops can be pretty high maintenance and hop growing is not for the faint-hearted! The crop requires a great degree of attention throughout the year, particularly during growing season. And it's not just the hops that thrive in our bionic soil; the weeds love it too! And although they compete with the hops for nutrients from the soil, they also play their part in supporting our crop, by offering a habitat to insects such as aphid and predator-eating bugs that keep the hops in top form!
