Phew I have finally finished A fraction of the whole. All 561 pages
of it!

Well Glenn it was certainly a different book to previous choices and
it was definitely challenging. But that's what being part of a book
club is about. Reading things we might not otherwise choose.

However I'm afraid that I would find it difficult to recommend to
anyone - in my opinion it is very long - could probably have been made
into at least a starter and then a sequel with perhaps a prequel
thrown in or maybe just a straightforward trilogy. Although my
husband reads some strange things so he might enjoy it.

My cover quotes it as being "Riotously funny" well if that's the case
I clearly don't have a sense of humour or maybe I just missed the
point of the whole thing. But I am glad I persevered and finished it.

I will pass it on to Rebecca now but with all her studies (final year
at uni - projects, essays, dissertations etc) I'm not sure she will
have time for this at the moment.

Well done you, I am really impressed.  I just couldn't get on with it at all.  I used to force myself to read something once I had started, no matter how much I hated it.  Then one day it dawned on me............I don't have to continue with something until the end if I really am not enjoying it.  So although it is rare, I don't always finish a book.  Sorry Glenn this was one that just didn't do it for me.  I found it really boring and as for hilarious..... I can't see that at all.  Each to their own.  I'm glad some of us liked it.

Sorry I have not read it. Am making a real effort to finish my Masters by end April so I can graduate in September and combine it with a holiday with the family. So unless it is about Quantitative Research Methodology (which I do not recommend as a good read) it does not get a look in. I am waiting to board a plane to Rotorua and my reading for the journey is The Survey Researchers SPSS cookbook (I can feel myself nodding off already!).

I like Di's idea of choosing several books and reviewing- shall we try that for a while and see?

Hope to see Di this week whilst up North and looking forward to her and Charlotte ehading South for Easter. And yes, either Gina has been eating lots of pies or there is a little Revill-Cathro on the way- she is looking radiant and growing daily.

Love to all xx

I like this idea too as it takes the pressure off.  I will post a couple of things later.  Good luck with the masters Ali and best wishes to Gina.
