Hi Guys,
Hope you are all well and getting into the Olympics.
Is anyone reading?
I have just finished Kate Mosse's Sepulcher which I really enjoyed, have also read Labyrinth by her, great books, just my thing, bit of mystery, history and France.
It's freezing, snow, rain and windy in NZ and hear England is not much better.
Have fun
Di

Hi Di, and everyone else.
I am not finding much time for the olympics or for reading either! Not got a clue where we are up to with book club books. I am currently reading Sepulchre as I too loved labyrinth. The thing is, with a 7 week old baby attached to me, Im averaging a page a day!

Hi Coralie,
Congratulations, I hadn't caught up on the fact you had had your baby, hope all went well, boy or girl and what's the name. Maybe you should post a photo on the book site as the newest member.
You won't have time for anything over the next few years.
I chose the Shakespeare Secret as my book last month but haven't heard from anyone so I may be the only one to have read it.
Enjoy Sepulchre and try and get some sleep
Good luck
Di

LOLl!  I think we have the same weather as you minus the rain.  I have finished reading the Shakespeare Secret which I quite enjoyed.  It is here waiting for Coralie to pick it up.  I still haven't managed to get the book before that, but what the heck, I always seem to read them out of order!

I will take a look at our site to see what I am supposed to be reading for August.  The last week, I have been reading a load of easy reading "chick lit" type stuff.  I have been here alone as the rest of the family have been in Dorset with Simon's lot. Oh, except Josh who is in Crete.  Anyway, I needed some easy reading to get into.

Hope you all have a good week.

Jill.

The Shakespeare Secret will be overdue at the library soon!!  I just checked our site and I see it is Gina to pick for August, but nothing there yet.  Wakey, wakey Gina!!  Still it does mean that maybe if the library can come up with "I don't know how she does it, the June book, I could end up being back on track!  I am ahead of Coralie for once.

I'll do my review soon on Shakespeares Secret. I see it is me to choose for October, so I'll have to get thinking.

Jill.

Hi Cory and Jill,
Wow what a cute wee man,
Thank you for putting the photos on, now I know what you all look
like.
Hope Evan is behaving himself and you are all getting lots of sleep.
Enjoy him they grow up so fast.
My Stewart has just turned 15 and is 5ft 10in already, leaving me way
behind.
It's the first day of Spring here today, and cold but the cherry trees
are coming out and we have lots of lambs so the warmer days can't be
too far away.
I stayed the weekend with Debs, fantastic to get together again.
I think we are all in the same boat, too busy to read all the time
with the commitments of families and study but don't give up read when
you can.
Thats what a book club is all about.
Best wishes from Di

Hi Di and everyone,

I'm glad you liked the photos, he is a bit bigger now!  LOL!  He weighs 13lb 12oz!!!!!  I agree with you that we all seem to be a bit busy, but does anyone have any thoughts on the next book?  Gina didn't pick anything for August, which is maybe as well, since we were all busy and I was still playing catch up.

Shall we agree to go straight on to Glenns choice for September, which is: "A Fraction of the Whole" by Steve Toltz.  What does everyone think?  We would at least be back on track then.

I'll choose something soon for October and post it at the list on the site.  I'll also get onto Verity to see if she is finally going to join us and choose for November.  She started her first teaching post today, so she is still going to be very busy until she gets into the swing of things.

Well, I hope everyone is well and having a good week and I look forward to your thoughts on the next book.

Jilly.

PS A note for Coralie..... You can read while you are feeding......... it's multi tasking!!

Hi,

I have been really slack lately and am not reading anything much unless it is linked to my Masters. Hopefully fingers crossed this will be finished by Xmas, but feel like life is on hold whilst I plough through it. I am also part way through writing my research proposal for my doctorate- Has ICT replaced the bricks in the Panopticon? (God- what is that all about I hear you all say??). I will probably take a year off from study before i get into it, or maybe i will give up all together and by a doctorate from some dodgy Internet uni!

anyway with that and work travel it has been a bit much- since i returned from UK in June I have had only 2 weeks when in Christchurch for the whole week, lately it has been Wellington, Sydney, Auckland and then Wellington again. I am back from Auckland now but off to Twizel for weekend tomorrow. I keep a suitcase packed!

love to you all- i still love reading your emails and do keep up with Wendy and jilly's blogs although very bad at commenting.

xx
