Italian designer Kean Etro won't use a rocked-up Gregorian chant dubbed with Pope John Paul II's vocals as he sends his models sashaying down the catwalk for this week's alta moda grand finale in Rome. It's not that he fears divine wrath or anything. His concern is more earthly: He doesn't want the Vatican to follow through on a copyright lawsuit threat. Etro said use of the vocals, taken from an unauthorized CD made by Italian musicians, was not meant as sacrilege, but as a tribute to pre-millennial religious impulses.
