I'm trying to use psc-ide with emacs by installing from Melpa. It fails with a message that it can't find a tar file. Any ideas how to deal with this?

That tar should've directly been downloaded from Github, it's probably not a problem with the psc-ide package itself. I've been successfully installing from Melpa on multiple machines just recently. Maybe try wiping your packages out and reinstalling them? Maybe it's some networking issue (think Proxy, broken GnuTLS installation)?

I think it's fixed, but not in an ideal way.

I discovered that when I type list-packages, I get a message about an invalid TLS certificate, and it asks me if I want to continue connecting. I typed "Always". Subsequently, installing psc-ide worked.

This may not be ideal as I have told it to continue with insecure connections in the future.
