Hi Gents,

It's really refreshing and inspiring to discover your collaborative
project. Great work!

I'm working on a proof of concept to demonstrate the possibility to
view a TIFF file (compressed ITU T.6 or CCITT Group 4 (G4) 300 DPI),
and/or a PDF with the embedded Tiff with Flash/Flex,

Is this possible with "purePDF"?

If so, it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide a sample
test (code) or your help on how to achieved this.

If you need sample files, please let me know where I can send them.

Thank you,

You mean to extract the embedded tiff image from the PDF?

Yes, and view it in Flash.

Hi Alessandro,

Thank you for your inquiery and my appologies if my previous response
was a little sort.

My proof of concept include two scenarios, 1 (one) to extract from a
PDF a Fax Tiff with G4 compression and view in Flex/Flash, and 2 (two)
to simply view a Fax Tiff with G4 compression in Flex/Flash.

I hope this is clearer.

Cheers,

Jean

Yes, it was clear, sorry but i'm quite busy these days because i'm gonna go to live in nyc...
Anyway actually you can't use multipage tiff images in purepdf. The porting from itext is quite huge and i never had time to complete it. I just added to my todo list but dont know when i can complete it. Regarding the pdf to flash.. i did some test some times ago for extracting media from a pdf file, you can find them in the wiki, but i never tried with those kind of tiff

Congrats & good luck with your move!
The said tiff files are single page files but the extraction from PDF
is more important.
Would you be intested in taking this example as a paying project?
If so, please send your estimated fees directly to my gmail account.
Again all the best for your move!

I quite completed the porting of tiff images into purepdf and it works.
The problem is that testing it with real tiff fax images it seems very very slow, have to find a way to increase the performances
