Good Afternoon Ya'll (it's actually evening, but by the time I post this sucker, it will be morning.) I am sitting here sipping on an Oregon Chai Tea Latte, slightly sweetened, but I had to add honey because it was not nearly sweet enough...I recommend the Original, people.
So, I have to come clean about my dirty little addiction.
It's that white powdery stuff, that all of us can't seem to get enough of...SUGA! Now, I really do want to live a long and happy and healthy life, and I know the detrimental effects all this sugar consumption can do, but I just love me some sugar. I have been able to weasel a lot of the sugar out of my diet, by drinking more water (a recommendation from
Dani.) This phases out sugary drinks such as pop and fruit juice, but I still can't help but notice that I am still consuming too much. This means, I turn to my trusty blog, and declare a goal!
One day, I
was eavesdropping on happened to overhear one of
Danielle's classes at IIN. This woman said, if you go three days without sugar, you are free from it! FREE! I talked to Danielle about it, and she said yep, and also fruits and sweet vegetables will taste even sweeter to you. SWEET! So, since about October I've been all next week I am going to do my three days without sugar, but as we all know, next week is always...next week. So once more I have to lay down the law on my procrastinating self.
There are two main things keeping me from taking on this challenge.
1. What the heck am I supposed to eat?
2. What the heck am I supposed to put in my coffee?
Luckily while I was typing this my older sister posted
this blog post. I will be using the meal plan template she included to plan my meals. So for my "monthly challenge" I will take three days to go sugar free (January 2nd, 3rd & 4th.) Until then I will make efforts to continue whittling sugar out of my diet, without stressing too much about it through the holidays!
I'd love to hear what you think about my plan to get healthier, and any health goals you may have as we transition into a new year! Leave a comment, and let me know.
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
