Trying to Install Pure-FTPD but getting an error message...

Im newbie to the linux stuff...but i know some what of what im
doing...

after all the installation of the prog, im trying to start the service
after all the configs are done...

but...i get the following message;

/etc/init.d/pure-ftpd start returned 7 (program is not running)
starting pure-ftpd

and thats it...im not 100% sure what that actually means and need
someone's help.

This seems to be a problem with PureFTPd (the server) and not
PureAdmin (the GUI). These are two separate projects, but I'll try to
help you anyway.

What distribution are you running? What version?

I don't know either. Did you try to connect to the ftp server? Maybe
it's running. It looks like you have something wrong in you FTP
configuration, but I can't say without knowing what distribution you
are running and how you configured your server.
