Hi everyone!
I hope your summers were fantastic! We just wanted to give you an update
on where the polo club is at the moment, as we're hoping that you'll be
interested in returning to join us for this year! We've got everything
back on track, as far as horses, lessons, the team, and traveling go.
This year, we'll be leasing 4 ponies from a polo player up in Chicago
during their polo off-season and they will be arriving at Foxton Farms
in October, where our club will be returning to ride. For those of you
who don't know, this facility offers full care of our horses as well as
an indoor arena.
Our club callouts will be held in Beering on Mon 8/29 at 6pm (BRNG 1230), Tues 9/6
at 7pm (BRNG 2291), and Mon 9/12 at 6:30pm (BRNG 1230). Following these callouts, we will be
holding on-the-ground lessons through the rest of September, getting a
grasp of the rules and techniques before mounted practice/lessons begin
in October. There are also a few optional weekend field trips planned
for September.
Lessons and practice will resume in October, to be taught by fun and
responsible individuals. The per-semester cost will remain the same,
however this year we are no longer requiring you to work football games,
so make sure you show your Purdue spirit as part of the student
section! There will also be organized weekend chukkers, as well as
travel for our teams and a Purdue presence at regionals.
So please, if you are interested in joining us this year, come to one of
our callouts, or email us with your nighttime availability. We promise
it's going to be a blast!
Your Exec Board,
Megan W., Megan F., Lara, and Marina
