Hi everyone!
We have worked out a tentative lesson schedule for the fall semester. The schedule is designed so that each lesson has multiple people with cars (for the first Monday lesson at 7pm, I will be driving). Carpools will leave from
Purdue West (where the Follet's and Dairy Queen are located near the intersection of IN-26 (State St.) and McCormick Rd.). While we hope that all of you will attend your first lesson on horseback beginning the first week of October and continue for the entire semester, if anything has changed at this point please let me know by the end of next week. The number of people in each lesson is designed to allow for not only instruction, but so that you can scrimmage and play the game each lesson as well! If you are interested in riding more than once a week, please let me know so that the lesson schedule can be modified.
Don't forget!
To begin our fall
polo school, we will have lessons on the ground using foot mallets on
September 19 (a Monday) and September 27 (a Tuesday) on the Memorial Mall (on the side closest to Stewart Center - look for someone with a mallet!) starting at 6:30pm.
These sessions aren't mandatory, but we hope you attend because you
will receive instruction on proper hitting technique and the rules of
polo. If it rains, we will still hold the sessions - the location is
to be determined at a later date.
We will go out to dinner afterward someplace close to campus (e.g. Boiler Market, Chipotle, etc.).
Hope to see you all next Monday!
Megan
