My name is Nilashis Dey. I usually go by Neil. I did my EE undergrad
from Purdue University and have been working in Dell in Austin, TX for
the last 3 years. I have been into product development, and operations
for a bit.

Purdue is a wonderful campus, has amazing amount of resources, a lot
of people and of course a lot of agricultural fields around!

Lets hear from everyone here. Also, please forward the URL(http://
groups.google.com/group/purdue-krannert-mba-2010) to this group to

Siba,

Purdue is a great place. The university is the main thing in west
Lafayette and a typical/isolated university town. I actually did most
of my undergrad in Purdue's regional campus at Indianapolis, but I
would visit Purdue-West Lafayette every month.

Resources: The university is huge, and has a lot of resources, labs,
recreational facilities, research centers, libraries...good place to
study.

Accommodation: This will depend on if you are single or coming with a
family? Most grad students live off-campus. When I say "off-campus"
please note that there are ample of apartments walking distance from
the school buildings. In fact some times, off-campus apartments are
closer to business school and other apartments compared to on-campus.
If you share, it is possible to get living+food+misc done within $1000/
month for the needs of an average student.

Commute: The campus is huge - but has a very good bus systems which is
free to purdue students.

Expenses: As i mention above $1000/month is a good estimate. Depending
upon if you live in a sharing accommodation arrangement - expenses can
go lower. West lafayette is generally cheaper than bigger cities.

When do you plan to land at Purdue? Are there others folks from
Bangalore and other places who are also coming to krannert this fall?
Invite them to this group.

Regards,
Neil
