I-20 and Visa

Hi all ,

Let me introduce myself first. This is Aravind from Chennai. I've
been working in IT product development for almost 5 years now. Applied
to Krannert in R2 and received an admit.

guys, have a few doubts abt financial docs for I20.

@ Those of you who received your I20
How much funds did you guys show for I-20 ?

Is there any link in ISS site that shows the amount of funds to be
shown ?
(I couldnt fine one )

Has anyone who applied in R2 and submitted financial docs. received
your I-20 yet ?

I cant understand you.
But, the ISS will initiate contact with you. They will mail you a link
to a website where you will have form to fill and documents to
upload. Later, when submit it, they will send you the I 20 in 3 three
weeks, if you hurry

Hi Aravind,

If you will login to fill up your Imigration to get I-20, there you have to upload financial supporting documents for $37,500.

@ Aravind,

 

Once you have uploaded the financial verification docs and the Scanned copy of your passport, the university

will initiate steps to process and send your I20.

 

The path to upload the same can be found in your decision letter - NOI link.

There are two questions from my side

1. Have you guys blocked/booked your tickets. If we are booking it now, we will be getting the tickets around 40K.

    Also let me know, which date are you guys planning to be there?

 

2. Are we supposed to pay for recieving our I20. The link that has been sent says so.

   Ppl who have got their I20 can confirm the same. Guess, Tanmay should be in a better position to answer this question.

Yes. U need to pay for the shipment. It was always like that and all
universities do it this way. They will give u a link to student
shipping and details of how to buy a label. Once you do that, they
will ship the i20 to you.

Where did you upload the passport copy?

I uploaded finance docs last Monday and haven't heard from them yet.

Thanks guys. That was quick ..

The amount mentioned in NOI was $37350 for the academic year 2009 -
2010 and no mention of amount for 2010- 2011.
Thats the reason I was confused and wanted to verify it with you all.

The amount for this year is about $39000. You would be safer to provide proof for additional living expenses.

Just beneath the place where they had asked for the Fin.verification, they had asked the 

scanned copy of your passport.

You can open the NOI link and check again.
