Does anyone have any idea about housing in West Lafayette?
I have been trying to do some research, but it is almost impossible to
decide anything from here.
I would have to check the apartments and then decide whether they
would be suitable. Besides, I would also need room partners.

I was thinking of identifying a few apartments and talking to their
owners before landing in USA. Then, I could stay in a hotel or
something for a week and decide on a apartment.

Have you guys/gals done any research? Please, lets discuss because
everything seems unclear to me at the moment.

The updated fee structure for this year is available on the bursaries
office website.
I was trying to calculate the cost for the first semester and I really
got spooked.
$ 19,555.00/ semester.
+ $ 1017/ year insurance Plan
+ $ 2000/ year books
+ $ 6000/semester living expenses

that is about $ 28600.
And I have not added stuff such as laptop here. The expenditure might
just top this estimate.

The total cost of the education without the scholarship would come to
about $ 110,000.

Guys, we need to plan our education, otherwise we will end up spending
money and have no education to speak of.

Does anyone know of any opportunities there to work to atleast pay for
our living expenses. Or any other way to fund our education.

Shocking! There has been ~ $1000/ semester increase in tuition fees from last years $ 18,450.00.
Living expenses will be around $600/ month at the most. Books cost can be lesser I guess.

But, overall, it seems a tad expensive and heavily plays down the cost effective factor for choosing Krannert. What say?

The increase of $1000 / semester is actually not that shocking because
it comes as ~5% increase from the previous academic year. It is quite
standard, if the fee increase over the last several years is studied.

Furthermore, a similar increase (~5-7%) in tuition should be expected
for the 2nd academic year. Purdue, and most universities, increase
fees in fall.
