I hope you are well. I would like to share an initiative a colleague- Haley Atwell is organizing with the help of Kat Braz from the Purdue Alumni Association for our graduating seniors. I think it’s a fantastic idea and hope you will be able to participate.

Greetings alumni leaders!
The Class of 2020 is graduating in an unprecedented time. Purdue is hard at work planning a virtual graduation ceremony to recognize their accomplishments. The Purdue Alumni Association wants your help in creating a special congratulatory video to show our newest alumni that wherever they are headed next, there are Boilermakers around the world who support them.
Would you be willing to share 20 words of encouragement for the Class of 2020? Participation is simple. You will be recording via Zoom, which can be done on a computer, tablet, or phone. Because the Zoom is perpetually recording, we must schedule you in half hour increments. Otherwise a new person entering the Zoom link will interrupt and ruin someone else’s message.
We will be recording April 16–18. Sign up for a time to record here.

Before we give you the Zoom link … a few tips!
1. The session will begin recording automatically as soon as you enter. We will be trimming the beginning of the video. So take a minute to position your webcam, ensure that you are well lit, and that your background is not too distracting. Make sure you connect with video AND audio!
2. If you are using a phone or tablet, please record with a horizontal frame, rather than vertical. And you’ll need to download the Zoom app before you get started.
3. Please state and spell your name and share your club/network affiliation for us before you get started.
4. When you’re ready to begin, start by holding a smile for a second or two.
5. After sharing your 20 words of encouragement, sign off with a hearty Hail Purdue! and a smile. Again, we will trim the end of the video, so just give us a solid sign off and then don’t worry about what you look like as you disconnect from the Zoom or if you need to get up from your chair to walk over to your device and exit.
